Perception vs reality
As the sustainability era continues to offer up social and environmental challenges, and the community continues to expect more from both public and private organisations, it is becoming increasingly important for organisations to communicate differently. The old rules of public relations ‘spin’ no longer apply.
Futureye’s risk communications training module provides a thorough overview of the key principles of modern risk communication theories and how organisations might use these principles to engage with stakeholders more effectively, build reputation and enhance corporate responsibility strategies.
We teach the theory of one of our associates, Dr Peter Sandman, and other risk communication academics/practioners. We then extend the theory and put it in the context of sustainable development to provide numerous examples of best and worst case examples of communicating risks in this era. We engage participants in exercises to apply the theory to a case study or a real-life example.
We can provide one-day training that gives participants an overview or up to a five-day proactivity champion training program that combines risk communication, sustainable development and organisational change.
