Marcus is a Value Systems specialist & Foresight Practitioner and has 15 years in sales & marketing development and strategy consulting. Marcus's roles have included government, recruitment, advertising, finance and manufacturing industries as well as extensive consulting opportunities to organisations of all sizes across almost all industry sectors.

He is a dynamic speaker and trainer and has presented at a range of conferences both nationally and internationally on subjects such as innovation, sustainability, organisational change, strategic foresight and consumer values and is the author of 'The Money Tree & How to Grow One - Creating Success in Your Business' and 'Killing Trends - the Graceful Art of Innovation' (due for completion during 2009).

Marcus is the designer of the ‘Global Currency Unit’ (GCU) and the ‘Global Currency Map’ (GCM) and is also the creator of the ‘Theory of Advanced Societies’ and ‘Advanced Society Paradox’ as application approaches within the sustainable development field and coined the term ‘foresight quotient’ which measures the ability to think of the future.

His developed strategy tools include the Reference Impact Grid (RIG) used within contingency, risk management and strategic futures work; the Accelerated Scenarios process (ASp); the ‘Empowered Decision Methodology’ (EDM) used to teach effective decision making at all levels of an organisation; and the Random Decision Generator (RDG) used in Innovation and Strategy processes.

  • Australia’s leading Strategic Futurist, his skills have been utilised by the likes of DEST, Centrelink, Sensis, Victoria Police, Hays Personnel, Selbys, Deakin University, CPA Australia, Foster’s Group, the Department of Defence’s CDSS program, South East Business networks; Gold Coast Water; the Australian Building and Construction Commissioner and General Motors among many others;
  • He presented at the UNESCO sponsored conference ‘Committing Universities to Sustainable Development’ in Austria on ‘Identifying and Overcoming Barriers to Organisational Change’; offered thoughts on Human Value Systems at the 12th International Conference on Thinking in Melbourne; spoke about using scenarios for better planning at AusForesight 06 Conference and at the ‘07 conference on making the connection between foresight and corporate needs; and at Dimensions2006 Sales & Marketing conference he tackled the industry’s approaches to both Branding & Innovation. In 2008 he challenged the Supply Chain and Logistics industry with his ideas on the emergence of Symbiotic Supply Chains;
  • A regular contributor to Australia’s award winning ‘Fast Thinking’ innovation magazine, he is currently ranked as a top marketing strategist by the global MarketingProfs.com forum and was co-presenter of the National Geographic Channel’s TV program ‘Future Matters’;
  • Marcus is the Founder of the Australian Strategic Planning Institute and is an advisory board member of the Australian Bill of Rights Initiative.
