Colin Fulton

Colin Fulton is a corporate affairs professional with a wide ranging and successful background in the areas of Government Relations, Issues and Crisis Management, Reputation Management, Media Relations, Change Management, Public Information programs and Internal Communication.

Colin runs his own communication consultancy – Corporate Words, a multi skilled company with offices in several states. He has a reputation for innovative and successful problem solving skills for clients with potentially damaging problems.

His main areas of expertise are in the areas of:

  • Crisis and Issues Management
  • Reputation Management
  • Internal Communication as part of structural change
  • External/community and media relations
  • Political advice and representation

Colin's clients are mainly concentrated in the petro-chemical, manufacturing and financial services industries. He has also worked with not-for-profit organisations and government, including statutory authorities.

His consultancy has won nearly a dozen PR and communication awards and he regularly lectures at the RMIT Communications and PR degree (and post graduate) courses, in the areas of Strategic Communication, Issues and Crisis Management and Internal/Employee Communication.

His earlier career included 17 years as a journalist, specialising in political journalism (including 8 years as chief Political Journalist for GTV 9), and five years as a Government Adviser and Press Secretary plus, nearly four years as a senior manager in the car industry.
