
Anthony Whitaker

Anthony Whitaker is a strategic planner with extensive experience in both the public and private sectors. He has worked in a range of State and Local Government roles; including public health planning, community planning, economic development and urban planning.
Anthony’s principle consulting work focuses on social planning, including community development, community relations, social infrastructure planning and social impact assessment. He has worked in a range of planning contexts, including greenfield development, urban infill, rural and master planned communities. As a complement to this social planning experience, Anthony has also worked extensively in Economic Development, including the development of Economic Development Plans for the Indian Ocean Territories on behalf of the Federal Government.
Anthony has an acute understanding of issues facing marginalised communities and groups and brings a strong social justice framework to all of his work. He has professional experience in Indigenous engagement, including a seven week community based human services planning consultancy for the Federal Government based in a remote Indigenous community in the West Kimberley. His work with mining companies (and associated university studies) has also given him experience in Indigenous Cultural Heritage Management issues and related statutory instruments. This work has included the development of internal protocols for a multi-national mining company in relation to Indigenous engagement and cultural heritage management associated with the planning and construction phases of new mines. Other mining related consulting includes community baseline studies, sustainability planning, community engagement and development of evaluation tools for social infrastructure investment in mining communities.
Anthony is an experienced facilitator with extensive experience in the design and implementation of innovative community engagement processes. He is highly experienced at conducting stakeholder forums with diverse clients, including workshops, public forums, focus groups and interviews.
Anthony holds a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA), Bachelor degrees in the Applied Sciences and a Graduate Certificate in Community Relations for the Resource Sector.
